Ms Rayner has admitted an error. However, how many of those screaming abuse at her can put their hands on their hearts and say they have never made one? This is misogyny at its worst.
Ms Rayner has apologised and recognised that the matter needs to be resolved. But.. oh no... the ravening wolves in the right-wing press along with their friends in Westminster have smelled blood and are determined to destroy a talented woman's career. Shame on them all. Where were they when Johnson was breaking every rule in the book? Why do they not hold right-wing politicians to the same standards?
It's time for us to call out their misogyny, their sexism, chauvinism, bigotry and sheer hate.
Yeah, the Tories want to send out a lynch mob but what she has done, by accident and due to the failings of her advisors, is a drop in the ocean compared to what some of them have done. Look at Boris Johnson. He didn’t resign. He is as corrupt as they come, Farage too, stealing hundreds of thousands from the EU. They can rub their little piggy trotters with glee but they had bigger snouts in deeper troughs.
And yes, it is misogyny at its worst too. Somehow women are still being held to a higher standard than their male accusers. She apologised, she will pay what she owes. One mistake shouldn’t wipe out a career when it contained and the error rectified.
As long as she pays what’s required I don’t there should be a problem, she’s not without her faults - like most of her contemporaries, but if she pays all that’s required it will show a degree of honesty sadly lacking in Westminster today.
Why? She has admitted an error and apologised. She is one of the most capable women in government and is head and shoulders above most of the shadow cabinet members. She speaks for the ordinary people of this country while the Tories in Westminster turn their eyes away from the shenanigans of their extremely wealthy, tax-avoiding backers.
