The rise of the far right aided and abetted by Yaxley Lennon and Farage Making hatred of foreigners and minority groups will be the downfall of this country, unless someone calls them out and holds them to account.
It is unacceptable for anyone to be or feel intimidated by these people. I’m sorry you’ve been made to feel this way, I don’t know how we make Britain tolerant again.
Why are people taking things so personally that they react in this strongly abusive way? Have people forgotten the social contract? Local councillors decide on things such as budgets, planning, bin collections, potholes and a few “political” decisions which councils often have too little money to really pursue. They’re doing this on behalf of those who elected them and is hardly a personal affront to individuals.
I am sorry to say that social media and generally TV too with phone ins and messaging (thankfully edited pre broadcast) have encouraged people to have and voice an opinion or a reaction. Those who can only react emotionally, I guess, react abusively.
I’ve noticed this in myself, reading an article, I’m already looking to see if I can comment!

This is very frightening and I am really concerned that the far right are increasingly become more vocal and aggressive.
