Surely an MO is not allowed to call a by-election which he then stands in. Who pays for this?

Agree- like one of those dodgy directors who shut down their company and then next day start a new one

Apparently he's oh so generously said Reform PLC will pay the costs (well they have the money, after all...)

If he were to win in Clacton again, surely the investigation will simply reopen as the rules will still apply. So what then? Will he just keep resigning and calling by elections in perpetuity until Reform's £9m and his 'personal' £5m run out?

That's right! we could have two by-elections in quick succession...

Farage is nothing but a con man. He was a terrible mp who held no constituency surgeries and only showed up in Clacton when there was a photo opportunity, he spent more time in the US, has 10 other jobs, and broke Westminster standards. Clacton deserves better

Clacton does, however the population there are mostly quite sad individuals that have been groomed by the Media and Farage's past ability to sell lies and untruths. His coming apart like this will make no difference. They will all say it's them lot in London after him because he 'speaks the truth'! God help them all.

Time for another Martin Bell to emerge.

The Weasel is actually a Ferret! Farage is a chancer and opportunist and when the heat is on, he runs away.

So which candidate is going to strongest to defeat Farage then. He had an 8,000 majority last time but I would hope a chunk of his previous supporters will not fall for him twice. What has he done for Clacton in his 2 years btw

For those who don't know whether Clacton is, or anything about it, there is still a railway service to the town. The idea is to stop the gene pool from depleting at a faster rate than at present 😉

He'll win.

I'm not into Reform at all but I've read the times article - it said nothing and there's not a shred of evidence that he's done anything illegal.

It was a load of guff and all it said was Nigel has a rich friend who's a bit dodgy.

Same as Kier Starmer and Boris Johnson.

Really terrible journalism in fact.

Really? NO evidence? He has not followed the correct procedures. Yes he would win again because he's a con artist and the poor sods in Clacton are infatuated with him and his lad down the pub attitudes. However, he will still have to face the Parliamentary Committee as have many others. Even Starmer has had to do it.
