I have read that the clock is reset to zero, so donations before he was elected the first time would escape scrutiny. Apparently that doesn't let him off the hook entirely because the earlier investigation can be resuscitated, but it weakens Parliament's ability to look into yet more donations etc. that unaccountably (unaccounted too) may have flowed his way. I'm sure we'll all become much more aware over the coming days of the parliamentary procedures involved.
Farage is nothing but a con man. He was a terrible mp who held no constituency surgeries and only showed up in Clacton when there was a photo opportunity, he spent more time in the US, has 10 other jobs, and broke Westminster standards. Clacton deserves better

It is the Establishment and the people (therefore the same thing) paying for this ludicrous charade. A true anti-Establishment vote would go to Count Binface anyway. If the Tories, Labour, the Lib Dem’s and the Greens don’t participate in the by election Farage will look a fool up against Count Bin Face while facing questions about his grifting. If the main Party’s say they’ll wait until the outcome of any investigation that’ll be the final nail in Farage’s ploy..
So which candidate is going to strongest to defeat Farage then. He had an 8,000 majority last time but I would hope a chunk of his previous supporters will not fall for him twice. What has he done for Clacton in his 2 years btw
