Parliament does not have to debate based on a petition. It only has to be considered.

Quite so, and any debate will be fruitless as the government is determined nothing. I’m extremely annoyed by responses that include the phrase ‘the government has no plans to…’ which is merely stating the obvious - we wouldn’t need a petition for something the government was planning to do anyway! Government petition site exists solely to convey the erroneous impression that the government is interested in what we think, petitions on other platforms will not be considered.

We have to show my age or i.d. to buy booze, cigarettes, vapes, reduced bus or rail fare, sign on-line shopping sites, to to gamble, to watch films in cinemas, to get a driving licence and a multitude of other places. We routinely share our locations, spending spending, shopping preferences,

This is no different.

Only those with malicious intent have anything to be wary of … Quite rightly.

It’s entirely different! Why should I be required to prove my age before I can share my personal details, such as my email address, privately with a friend on social media? I don’t need to have any malicious intent to wish to avoid making my private business public!
