"The evidence is compelling: if all women completed primary education and gained basic literacy, maternal deaths would be reduced by two-thirds. In Malawi, each additional year of maternal education cut infant mortality by 10%. In Uganda, each extra year of schooling cut the risk of infant mortality by more than 16%. Chapman seems not to get the point that cutting education spending will reduce the effectiveness of spending on health."
Very timely!!!
Thank you!! 🙏🏼
Thankyou for reading Claire!
Thank you for writing this Amy! This subject needs urgent reconsideration.
Did you see Larry Elliot’s article?
I just read it. Sigh. This really sticks out:

Yes, that jumped out at me too. It’s a short sighted and morally indefensible decision. This is Tory ideology in sheep’s clothing.
I admire and respect Anneliese Dodds for taking a moral stand. (Moral stands = rare these days … 😞)
We have to keep up the pressure, although I’m tired and exhausted from trying to fight the good fight.
Are you on Blue Sky Amy? If you are I could follow you?
Thanks Claire. I'm not on Bluesky atm but will DM you my email on here.
Ok Amy! That’s perfect. I’m still working my way around here.
